Reisgidsen zijn hoe langer hoe talrijker en dat vindt u bij kwalitatieve uitgevers zoals Lonely Planet, ANWB, Trotter gidsen, … Hun aantal blijft echter maar groeien, want wekelijks komen er nieuwe bij. Wij stellen voor, om nu en dan de website te bezoeken en uw favoriete locaties op te zoeken. Reisgidsen waarvoor Bibliotrek kiest, zijn van de betere kwaliteit onder de uitgevers. Enkel grote en reeds goed gekende uitgevers komen aan bod. Reisinformatie, accommodaties, culturele bezienswaardigheden en beknopte stads- en natuurplannetjes zitten in vele gevallen mee in de gids verpakt. Kortom, voor bijna alle landen, toeristische bestemmingen, steden & centra is er wel ergens een gids beschikbaar om uw favoriete locatie in terug te vinden. Vindt u niet direct waar u naar op zoek bent, dan zijn wij uiteraard bereid om u te helpen bij uw keuze. Waar je moet op letten als je een nieuwe reisgids wil kopen!
Nieuwe reisgidsen kopen?, dat is een kwestie van weten wat u wenst. In eerste instatie, hoe lang gaat u op stap?, bestaat uw reis uit een weekend-trip, een vliegreis? een autovakantie?, stel uw zelf de vraag van hoeveel informatie u nodig heeft voor de locatie waar u naartoe trekt. Een citytrip bijvoorbeeld kan grote reisgidsen bieden, of compacte weekend gidsen, waar dan weer minder instaat. Gaat u daarentegen een land bezoeken voor een paar weken, dan is een goed gevuld reisids van toepassing. Dan luid nog de vraag of die cultureel of landgerelateerd moet zijn. Weet wat u wenst!
Wat staat er zo allemaal in een reisgids?
Een reisgids staat in eerste instantie boordevol informatie. Maar welke informatie, dewelke is goed voor uw reisbestemming, en dewelke biedt u de informatie die u zoekt? Reisgidsen zijn intussen al zover dat de meeste uitgevers al weten hoe ze een reisgids professioneel moeten opstellen. De keuze is enorm, en zelf binnen de reisgidsen kunt u kiezen tussen toeristische versies of cultuur reisgidsen gevuld met foto’s van het verleden. Deze laatste twee zijn de meest voorkomende, maar er bestaan er veel zoals de stads gids, de thematische gids, natuurgidsen. Maar al te vaak vindt u gidsen die een aanvulling betekenen op een bestaande reisgids. Opgelet dus bij uw keuze.
Wat maakt een reisgids goed?
Met Reisgidsen is best aangeraden om alle voorziene en meegeleverde reisinformatie in u op te nemen bij de aankoop van een nieuwe. Een reisgids mag niet te uitgebreid zijn, moet alle noodzakelijke informatie bevatten die het thema toebehoren. Het kleurgebruik en tegelijk de gebruikte teksten in de gids moeten duidelijk zijn, en in geen geval in verschillende talen vermeld staan. Uiteraard heeft Bibliotrek ervaring met de verschillende uitgevers van reisgidsen, zo kennen wij Lonely Planet en Insight guides.
Andere informatie zoals toeristische informatie punten, in de vorm van aanduidingen als bezienswaardigheden, trein stations, resto’s, verblijfplaatsen, campings, hotels, enz. kunnen dan weer een voordeel zijn voor uw reis. De symbool gebruik in de verschillende types reisgidsen verschillen van uitgever tot uitgever. Let dus op dat hoe meer randinformatie, en hoe meer symbolen, hoe moeilijker de leesbaarheid van de gids kan worden. Kijk ook uit dat de gids van een bepaalde bekende Auteur is, dan bent u heel zeker.
De recentste editie van een reisgids kiezen
Wij bij Bibliotrek beschikken over een soort API, digitaal update systeem die in contact staat met onze leveranciers. Al onze producten zijn steeds de nieuwste versies die uit zijn. Oude- of oudere versies worden na een wekelijkse update van onze leveranciers, op non-actief gezet. Alle producten waarvan de versie verouderd zijn, maar die bij Bibliotrek nog op voorraad zijn, worden u aangeboden aan een voordeelprijsje, aan u de keuze dus, of u de aller nieuwste wil bestellen, of als u tevreden bent met een iets minder nieuwe versie
De uitgevers van reisgidsen
Onze eigen Belgische reisgidsen, zoals Edicola zijn best ok in kwaliteit, maar wij moeten toch wel zeggen, dat de Franse Engelstalige uitgevers toch wel vooraanstaande gidsen uitbrengen. Reisgidsen van onder meer Lonely Planet, Eyewitness, Elmar, Footprint, ervaart u een hogere professionalisering van gegevens voor uw reis. Bij de gewonere reisgids is de informatie veelal op een aparte manier beschreven. Engeland, Nederland, Duitsland en Denemarken zijn ook goede uitgevers van reisgidsen. Buiten deze vermelde landen, zijn reisgidsen in geen geval van zelfsprekend voorzien van de meest relevante informatie. Rough Guides bijvoorbeeld, zijn uitstekende reisgidsen, weliswaar in de Engelse taal, maar zijn verkrijgbaar voor gans het Europese continent en verder.
Wat maakt een reisgids gebruiksvriendelijk?
Wat een reisgids gemakkelijk maakt in gebruik, is de vooropgestelde inhoud vermelding. De verschillende te volgen toeristische wandelroutes bij naam, de afstand van routes, kortom, de opsomming van de verschillende onderwerpen in de verschillende locaties in detail weergegeven op een ingetekende kaart in de reisgids. Ideaal is een reisgids in combinatie met een wandelkaart, dat heeft u alle informatie van de routes die in de reisgids staan, en geeft u met een kaart het volledige overzicht van de besproken regio.
De Taal van een reisgids
Mochten reisgidsen nu verkrijgbaar zijn in verschillende talen, dan zou dat voor de klant extra makkelijk worden. Helaas worden reisgidsen eerder uitgegeven in de taal van waar de uitgever zich bevindt, of in een paar gevallen ook in een Engelse versie, maar dat is eerder uitzondering. Zolang het over het Europese continent gaat, kan de reisgids wel gevonden worden in de taal van het desbetreffende land. Wat de rest van de wereld betreft, is de Engelse taal de meest voorkomende versie. Wat wij bij Bibliotrek niet doen, is bijvoorbeeld een Duitse uitgever nemen in de Duitse taal, daarvan een product insteken van een Franse reisbestemming, maar dan in de Duitse taal. Dergelijke artikelen zult u bij ons niet vinden. Dan neemt u beter een Franstalige versie van een Franse uitgever. Bij Bibliotrek keuze genoeg trouwens.
De kaarten in een reisgids
Meestal staan die op schaal 1;25.000 of 1:50.000 die op zich vergelijkbaar zijn met dat van de wandelkaarten als u die wil gebruiken om in detail routes te volgen. 1:25.000 is dat zelf de meer aangewezen schaal. Op elke kaart staat er meestal een aanduiding van hoe ver 1 cm is op de kaart, dat is ook een grote hulp. Zo kunt u makkelijk uw eigen afstand inschatten. Een kaart met aan de achterkant van de kaft is ook een mooi extra die reisgidsen soms toevoegen. In vele gevallen zelfs groter dan de afzonderlijke kaartjes in de reisgids zelf.
